This look is inspired by a coastal sunset. One of Nigeria’s major economic assets is its access to the Atlantic Ocean. We are blessed with a vast number of beaches and ports.Historically, some of our beaches have been a blessing and a curse. Badagry was one of the hubs of the Transatlantic Slave Trade which ended in 1888. From as early as the 15th century, our shores were used to disperse those of Nigerian descent all around the world. The 1888 Kaftan combines hues of the burnt orange sunset with the deep blues of the Atlantic Ocean which can be appreciated from various vantage points across our coastline. A reminder that no matter how far away we may be taken from home, we are all looking at the same sunset. The ocean is infinite, a sunset is timeless.🌅
